Pay per Click can be a Profitable Marketing Strategy

Many different Internet marketing strategies can be used to promote a new affiliate or products and services to the market that has been targeted. Free marketing techniques often turn out to be the most effective. These techniques include posting on blogs, forums, social networking sites, article directories and in classified advertisements. They can be time consuming, however, and they also require a high degree of consistency. This makes them less than ideal, especially if you want to take a break but still bring in some residual income.

This leads business owners to use paid marketing strategies. They often provide faster results, but they can waste a tremendous amount of money if done improperly or the wrong strategies are used. Take pay per click, for example. This is a strategy that can make or break you, depending on the way you use it in your Internet marketing. In spite of the risk, pay per click is an extremely important marketing tool for the following reasons:

Bridges Free Advertising Methods and More Expensive Methods

Some people lose money when they try pay per click, but services like Google Adwords are very flexible and allow marketers to set their budget to prevent overspending. Just like its name indicates, with pay per click you only need to pay when someone clicks on your ad. This is much different than typical advertising in the newspaper, which makes you pay for the whole space the ad is in, whether anyone looks ar the ad or not. You'll spend more money if your ad gets a lot of clicks, but you'll spend less if it doesn't. A lot of clicks should be profitable if your website is properly set up.

Pay per Click Gets Quick Results

Google Adwords is run by Google, the same company that operates the top Internet search engine. Millions of people use Google's search engine every day to search for a variety of services, products and business opportunities. This means your website should receive increased and quicker exposure, particularly if you have a good marketing campaign set up. Many online marketers that have tried the pay per click strategy say they've seen results quicker than with other types of marketing.

Highly Customizable

One of the advantages of Google Adwords is how easy it is to change the text advertisement any time you wish. You should do this in line with tracking the Adwords campaign itself. In other words, you should check your statistics often to determine whether your campaign is gaining any traction. If it's not, adjust the text advertisement if you think it will help. The adjustment can be done at no additional cost.

If the Campaign is Working, Pay per Click Continues Working Automatically

With all of these sales or commissions that you are making, you should be able to afford these campaigns. You should maintain this strategy so that your site stays on a leading position in search engine results. Your site may even be number one as long as you can afford that slot. As long as you continuously track your progress and keep your website fully functional, you should be able to get some great results using pay per click.

5 Online Lead Generation Sources That May Be Missing From Your Marketing Plan

Would you be surprised to find out that online lead generation has changed during the last several months? Today, leads are coming from phones, voice messaging, text messaging, and more. There are now many new ways to get leads for your website. You can even identify the phones in a restaurant at a given moment and send a coupon for a free dessert on the next visit.

Here are five recent changes in online lead generation that have either bubbled to the surface or become more important during the last few months. Be sure to incorporate these five changes into your plan.

1. Video. Video is the new requirement. It is almost as important today as search in online lead generation. Video does not need to be professionally produced. It just needs to speak to the interests of your market and be entertaining. When you make it, consider that there is also a good chance it will cross over on Facebook, your web site and phones.

2. Social Media. Social media is an effective way to build a group of followers and get people talking about your business. Focus on the two or three that are most likely to reach your target audience. In addition to online lead generation, these are also a very effective way to build links back to your site. And now, live social media activity is being picked up in search results by at least one of the leading search engines.

3. PPC Sponsored Listings. Sponsored listings on the results pages of the search engines are regaining importance. With search now including all of the chatter on the social networks, it is becoming more difficult to attain top ten ranking in organic search. This might again be the best option for appearing on page 1, which is essential for online lead generation.

4. Optimized content. Everybody needs to be adding content to their site regularly. That content also needs to be promoted and shared in other ways on the web to help you with online lead generation. Articles should be submitted to directories; press releases should be distributed online and sent to local media. Product and service descriptions should be spiced up and optimized. Everything you post anywhere online, including your blog, should be optimized and linked back to your site.

5. Using Automation. You can find a program or service that can automate almost everything you need to do for online lead generation. From PPC management to content production assistance, to pre-planned auto-responder programs - it is all out there. Don't be afraid to try it after checking it out. It will save huge amounts of time.

Incorporating these five tips for online lead generation into your marketing plans will help you stay on top of the latest developments and maximize your efforts and your expenditures.

Are You Using These Ten Internet Marketing Promotion Tactics?

There are countless ways to promote your small business or professional firm. Internet marketing promotion is the category of promotions that are somehow most difficult for many people.

One of the reasons internet marketing promotion seems so confusing is that the tactics are relatively new (or they seem to be), and there are so many people trying to convince you that they are the experts in either all types of promotion or in a specific type of promotion. In an effort to dispel some of the confusion and apprehension, here are the keys to internet marketing promotion.

1. Company web site. The way the site is built should move people from lead to customer, and it should be written to give them the information they need to make a buying decision. Your site is the foundation of all internet marketing promotion.

2. Keyword Research. You need it for search engine optimization and for Google AdWords.

3. A Google AdWords campaign. This can be as limited as your budget requires. It might be an occasional rather than a continuous option, and it should be limited in expenditure each day. It can be a good way to get traffic to your site in the beginning or during a major campaign.

4. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Program. Keywords change. So do search engine algorithms. The goal of internet marketing promotion is to help people find your site.

5. Email Marketing. This is the most affordable way to stay in touch with your customers and prospects. Use it for company news, special offers, follow-up, new product or service information, gathering information from customers, and more. Even a monthly newsletter is an important internet marketing promotion.

6. Free Stuff on your Website. Depending upon the kind of business you operate, this could be a free gift, a loss leader, or information (fact sheets, articles, special reports, e-books).

7. Media Relations Program. Build relationships with local reporters so they will come to you as a local expert when necessary. Regularly publish press releases.

8. Social Networking, social bookmarking, blogging and other Web 2.0 tactics, including commenting on other sites, blogs, etc. This is the newest approach to internet marketing promotion, and the most effective.

9. Article Publishing. This is a good way to get people to know who you are and to build more links coming into your web site.

10. Paid Ads. You will want to support your other internet marketing promotion efforts by putting a few paid banner ads on sites other that are appropriate to your business.

If you will pay attention to these steps in internet marketing promotion, you can expect to be successful.

Using Expired Domains To Get Traffic

Before deciding on buying the domain, you may want to know how many people have owned it, and why they don't want it anymore. Several different people could have used expired domains in its lifetime. They may have had a website designed, built links to it, had it advertised in search engines, and other things. There are several reasons an owner may let his domain expire.

The owner has no more interest in his business
The business may have closed down
The owner could have forgotten to pay the renewal fees
They couldn't afford to keep it running

There could also be many other reasons that the owner of the domain let it expire. At any rate, you can buy it if you so wish. You can either build a website on it, or use it to link to one you already have. It can be a great opportunity to get customers that used to link to the bought domain. They may see your company as something that is useful to them. Although you can never know the exact popularity of a certain domain, there are things that can be done to get an estimate.

By using link popularity, you can find out the number of websites that are linked to the domain. The greater the number of links, the potential traffic you can receive in the future. If the link is popular, it stands a better chance of getting good quality traffic.

With the Alexa toolbar, you can gauge the number of hits a domain receives. If a domain has not gotten any hits in three months, Alexa drops it. This can tell you how much traffic the domain receives. If a website has an Alexa rank of 100,000 then it probably gets two hits a month. This can help you to tell how much traffic the domain you are thinking of buying gets.

Google page rank uses a scale from 1 to 10. It uses the number of pages linked to a specific domain. Using the Google toolbar, you can type in the domain name to get the page rank.

Some domain owners have paid for registrations on search engines like Yahoo or Look smart. Type the full URL into these directories to see if the domain you want to buy is in them. If you buy the domain, the registrations transfer with you. It is very profitable if the website happens to be in the top 10.

Using expired domains to get web traffic can be a time consuming process, but many people have had much success with it. You can try it out for yourself and see if it is something that you would like to try.
